One question I get asked this time of year is "What do you guys do in the summer?" A typical answer I give is "Lots" followed by a raised eyebrow.

To me, it seems like a strange thing to ask, though folks probably don't realize that summer is a busy season for us at the shop. The things we make can't be available to us in 24 hours like most things these days. Many things that are worth our money take a little planning and a lot of creation time in a shop somewhere, winter and summer.

So, while the snow is still months away, our busiest crafting season is upon us. We are spending these warm months building up our winter inventory and meticulously crafting custom sleds and unique toboggans destined for action come this winter.

Summer has also been an opportunity to refine our new and improved snowshoe furniture line, something that I am very excited to share with the world. A new table style, smoother lines on the rocking chair, and plenty of time for that urethane finish to dry completely.

The days are going by quickly now. Up north, the evenings start to have that ever-so-slight chill in them, signaling the kids will be going back to school in not so many weeks. It's probably not high on your summer bucket list, but I encourage you to plan ahead this summer to secure your winter heirloom purchase or to commission your custom wood project. We are often open to accepting a new challenge and to solving old problems that come our way.
