SNOWMOBILE HITCH INCLUDED
The Snowmobile Freight Sled is a true workhorse. With its sturdy deck and flexible stainless steel bridges, it can haul thousands of pounds over winding terrain. Made to be pulled behind a snowmobile, this sled is also home behind an ATV or side by side. A descendant of the freighting sled that upheld the commercial fishing industry of Northern Manitoba, its simple design is ideal for stacking boxes and barrels, while the open platform allows large and irregular objects to be easily fastened to the deck. Some of our customers have added their own customization to this simple sled in order to accomplish whatever job they face.

The Snowmobile Freight Sled is a true workhorse. Unlike our towing toboggans and recreational sleds, the Freight Sled was originally built with industry in mind. It’s simple design is ideal for stacking boxes and barrels, while the open platform allows large and irregular objects to be easily fastened to the deck. For this reason, these heavy-duty snow sleds became popular in the commercial fishing industry of Northern Manitoba. On those long stretches of a frozen lake, it pays to have a wooden snow sled that can perform consistently and withstand repeated heavy use.
Even if you don’t need a heavy-duty freighting sled to make your living, the Snowmobile Freight Sled is still great for outdoor recreation. In fact, it’s probably our most popular product to use as a custom ice fishing sled. Some folks have built their own pop-up tents or custom ice houses on top of this cargo sled’s sturdy deck. With flexible stainless steel bridges connecting the sled to the skis, it can haul thousands of pounds over uneven terrain. In the words of one satisfied customer: “The way this sled distributes weight is really an elegant thing.”
We are always curious to hear new ideas from our customers and new uses for our products. If you have an idea or question, don’t hesitate to give us a call, we love talking to folks and hearing their feedback.
Around the shop, we like to keep one of these cargo sleds handy for freighting lumber and firewood. Other customers have told us that they prefer this model to a toboggan when they need a trapping sled or extra storage in a winter. In this way, the Snowmobile freight sled is probably our most versatile model. You can even strap a couple of benches on top and make your own backwoods snow sleigh. Whatever job you need done, chances are the Snowmobile Freight sled can help.
