The Tao of Deer Camp - north woods, MN

We close the toboggan shop and arrive at camp the Friday of opening weekend. It is the first time in years that all four of the living uncles are making it back to camp with at least one of their children. The anticipation of the annual hunt has been around since the mid-1900's.  Our 11 man reunion added to our excitement.

The weather over the past 10 years has warmed up quite a bit. The crescendo continued into this year with highs reaching into the 60's for most of the weekend. The comfort in the woods made it easy to spend the full days on the land, observing. It was a weekend of camaraderie and bounty.
