We’ve got snow!

In our neck of the woods, the first snow often fell well before Thanksgiving.  Enthusiastic to get on the land, we'd have cross country ski trails groomed and many toboggan rides under our belts well before the turkey was cut. These early winters would kick off very long holiday seasons that make up some of my best childhood memories. 

Winter would feel halfway done by the time we made it to Christmas. The anticipation for the family, food, and of course, the gifts, would build up like a crescendo. During those early years, Dad (aka The Sled Maker) was hard at work building our new family business, Northern Toboggan and Sled. Many years of bootstrapping meant some Christmases were very tight financially, but we always felt rich in the memories and gifts that made their way under the tree. It also helped that Dad made wooden toboggans and sleds and we had one of every model to use at our disposal!

In the spirit of gratitude, goodwill, and the generosity that comes with the holiday season, it seems timely to provide a brief guide to some of our top sellers for Holiday Gifts. There are still 3 weeks left to order for a pre-Christmas delivery, and we look forward to being a part of your family's future memories.

• New! We've added a great new line of apparel this year. Check out our fresh new logo gear that brings function and style together!

• The fan favorite continues to be our line of downhill toboggans. These beauties come in 4-foot, 6-foot or 8-foot lengths to accommodate families of all sizes. Options include a comfortable pad fitted perfectly for your toboggan and an engraved nameplate to name your family heirloom.

• New! For the DIY guy or gal in your life, we now have partnered with long time kit creator, Country Ways, to develop our very first Northern Toboggan Kit so you can take pride and ownership in assembling your own heirloom downhill toboggan.

• Last, but certainly not least, our Children’s Pull Sled is a fan favorite! My wife and I call it our "winter stroller", and it has become a new classic gift for friends and family with new little ones in their lives. Options include a customized blue bunting and personalized engraving.
